HKC Capacitive Touchscreen Featuring Services

HKC Capacitive Touchscreen Featuring Services

My wife has a Ipad and my daughter has a Ipad mini. My daughter will not let me use hers anytime and my wife almost always has her Ipad with her so that is a no go as well.

I like to connect to the internet without moving my lap top around. I found the Ipad to be nice and light alternative over the lap top. However, I did not want to pay the money for the Ipad. I ran across this HKC for $89 and decided to try it.

I wanted something small and light to do things like check emails, check the weather, read articles on the internet, read books, watch video's on you tube or netflix, check stocks, etc. I am not much into playing games but tried a few just for fun. The games work great!

At the very first I did not like the response and the learning curve of the HKC over the Ipad. That did not last long. The HKC learned what I wanted to look for quickly and soon I was easily moving around to view the things I routinely wanted to view on a moments notice.

I also use the Quickoffice ($15) to load and view Word, Excell, and PDF documents for work, etc. remotely. Awesome! I use this device to load files and take to meetings instead of my phone which is too small of a screen to view documents. This also prevents me from having to take my lap top to some meetings where I only want to view documents and not amend or work on them.

I have an Iphone 5 for my cell phone and love it. I just did not want to pay the money for an Ipad. The HKC is not quite the quality of the Ipad but it cost no where near what the Ipad cost. The HKC is a great device and I am glad I purchased it and would do so again knowing what I know now.

I will recommend this device to friends.

I am puzzled by the bad review the other person made about his three (3) HKC's purchased. I have had no issues with mine at all. I have used my HKC for about 6 months. I found the bad review while looking for a gel case for mine. I decided to review the product because I do not think this product deserves the bad review.

Great product. I would buy again.

Iron Man Official Kindle Edition

Iron Man Official Kindle Edition

I LOVE this case for several reasons:
- It truly is a custom fit. Meaning, that is adds very little to the bulk of the HP Touchpad. What impressed me about the fit is that the "base" of the case - the part the Touchpad goes into is rigid, but covered with a soft texture. In other words, this is not like a soft vinyl or TPU case, it clearly has some protection, but inside is very soft as to not scratch the Touchpad.
- The cover folds like all the other iPad covers on the market so you have variability with your usage scenarios.
- Some reviewers commented about a velcro stip. The velcro strip is used (but I am not sure it is needed) as a supplemental way to secure the tab when you fold the cover back and need to tuck it into the slot at the back of the case. The velcro is not needed to keep the cover closed. Unlike some reviewers, i had no issues with my cover. It laid flat across the entire surface and did not need any extra mechanism to keep it flat.
- As I mentioned above, this case will offer some amount of drop protection around all edged (and back) of the Touchpad because the Touchpad "snaps" into a form fitted rigid case.
- As mentioned in the product description, the case has cutouts for the USB port, the headphone jack and the mic at the top. The volume and power buttons are covered, but they do not hamper the operation of those buttons.
- This case DOES allow the Touchpad to work with the Touchstone charge dock with the case on.
Overall a great case ata great value. When it is on and closed, one will hardly notice that it adds bulk to the Touchpad, but it does appear to provide ample protection.

This smart case is nearly perfect. All the ports are accessible and the build quality is pretty good and it doesn't add much bulk as i can still fit it inside this universal case fir 7" Tablets. My only complaint is the Power and volume rockers are awkward to actually use. Opposed to a tradition style of those controls being overlaid by some sort of rubber or silicon because the case add's bu;l, there is just an indent on where those ports are. I personally would like to have those button covered like they do on otterbox cases, but its not really something that i would knock a star off since they're still accessible and you won't really be hitting the power button since its a smart case or adjusting the volume too often [unless using headphones]. All-in-all, a very good buy for that price.

SVP 7in Android 512MB Tablet

I love classical music and I've wanted a music collection like this for so long, and after a year of searching it's finally here! Couldn't be happier that this is exactly what I wanted in an app like this, thank you so much!

The collection has indeed best classical pieces in history, including a lot of classic pieces of music that we hear very often but just don't know the author/name. This is one of the things I love the most about this app, it really helps to educate me on the topic while providing a pleasurable listening experience.

The sound quality is pretty amazing, for 100 songs it's only 150mb, I don't know how the creators did it, but they pulled it off, if there's a second volume I'd definitely buy.

Though one thing I would like to see in the next version is something like a youtube page function, and perhaps the ability to save my favorite songs into a playlist, that would be awesome.

Thank you again for a well made app, love it!

Surface PRO is AMAZING!!!

Microsoft Surface Pro Windows Tablet

Microsoft Surface Pro Windows Tablet

About Me
I work as a graphic designer creating illustrations, graphics, labeling and etc. I mostly use a Mac at work with the Adobe Creative Suite (CS5) but side-by-side with a Windows 7 pc for everything non CS related.

About my computers
At home I have [soon to be had] a very dated Windows XP desktop and laptop which are [were] driving me crazy. Very slow connection speeds and other problems just because they need to be retired.

So, it was time for an upgrade at home.

What I did
I purchased a Surface PRO 128 GB with black Type Cover and digital pen. Got a bundled deal which included screen protection, MS Office 365 subscription for a year, carrying case, and extended warranty.

I brought it home and downloaded and installed the trial versions of Adobe Design and Web CS 6 and Corel Draw 6 (I think that's the version). Plus a bunch of other free apps from the Windows Store.

Then I "played".

Basically, trying to see what the limits of the machine are when using the heavy hitters such as Photoshop and etc.

What I think
So far, I'm completely in love and impressed with the hardware. Also with MS Word 365, surprisingly.

I used the Surface Pro to take a photo of something I wanted to use as a reference for a line drawing/illustration. Then brought the photo into both Adobe Illustrator (AI) and Corel Draw.

It takes a little getting used to but I was up and running pretty quickly. AI's interface doesn't seem to be optimized for the small screen so all the tools and menus are microscopic but still useable. Perhaps Adobe's CS7 will work out better (and NO, I don't know when that will be released).

Corel's interface seems to have been properly optimized for the small screen. There was a big difference between the two, Corel and AI, when it came to someone with my eyesight (in my 50s).

In any case, I LOVE the ability to draw directly onto the screen. It's much more natural and seemed more efficient and faster.

Also, am LOVING the ability to use my fingers instead of the stylus/digital pen.

MS Word 365
Although I don't use Word for creating graphics or layouts in my job, I have used it for many years. What fun I'm having with Word 365. The ability to input text via drawing the letters with my finger instead of just typing is cool. But also the ability to sketch a graphic while in Word. This is what you'd expect to do in AI, not Word! Line weights and colors plus fills in different colors. A full color mixing palette. OMG! Fun.

Other
Connecting to various WiFis: No problem. It automatically found my wireless printer at home. Windows Apps installed seamlessly and quickly.

I'm enjoying the "Metro" and all the "touch" features. I do NOT miss having a mouse. Still learning how to "gesture" or touch the screen and get what I want. A bit of a learning curve here. Not always getting what I expect but it's been fun all the same.

NOTE: Touching the screen when the screen is in your lap or less than an arm's length away hasn't been a problem. Although if I were to get a bigger touch screen type computer for work, let's say, I suspect reaching out to a screen that IS an arm's length away will become tiresome. Mouse would be needed for that situation I assume.

Pulling the type cover [keyboard] off the tablet is fun and cool and useful when you want to start drawing.

Signed up for HBO GO via my DISH account. Enjoying catching up with my programs . . . getting ready for new season of Game of Thrones.

Haven't connected to a big screen yet.

Don't do that
I've been using it every which way. Portrait, landscape, askew, type case folded behind, kick stand with type board out toward me and etc.

I even tried forming it into a "tent" with the hinge pointed upward. This kept causing the screen to go blank/black and even caused a "blue" recovery boot. So don't do that. It isn't necessary. You can get all the angles you need without.

Verdict
In Love.

So far found no reason to take it back although it hasn't been a flawless experience. I suspect I'll run into some crashes but coming more from the Adobe side of things.

Diner Dash Kindle Tablet Edition

Diner Dash Kindle Tablet Edition

I have been using this charger to charge my Galaxy Nexus smartphone, and it can charge the phone even when the GPS is in use. My old car charger would not provide enough power to charge the battery while the phone was running a GPS app, so the battery would still drain slowly. This is not a problem with the Anker charger. My Galaxy Nexus indicates that it is charging in AC mode, which means it is getting full power (instead of the limited 0.5A in USB mode).

The other benefit of the Anker charger is that you can plug in two devices at the same time. I successfully tried to charge my Galaxy Nexus alongside a Sansa Clip MP3 player, and both charged fine.

I gave this product 5 stars because it works perfectly with my phone, and has the benefit of being able to charge your passenger's phone at the same time. One thing to take note of is that the indicator light on my charger was really bright. If you have sensitive eyes, I'd recommend putting a bit of tape over the indicator light to dim it a little.

UPDATE 2/12/2013: Since my initial review, I was able to try an updated version of this charger with a slightly modified indicator LED light. The brightness of the light is now much more pleasing to the eyes, and I would recommend this product without reservations.

I don't own an umbrella. I really dislike using them. They are just a major inconvenience to me. So began my search for a lightweight waterproof jacket. I have several other Scottevest items and figured I'd give the Pack Windbreaker a try. As usual I was not disappointed.
The Pack Windbreaker is listed as water resistant which worried me a bit at first as one of the things I wanted to use it for was a rain coat. So I put it on and suck my arm under the kitchen faucet. Dry as a bone. The water just beaded up and ran off the side. It has help off any downpour that I have subjected it to so far. :)

Besides using it as a rain jacket I found that it is wonderful to wear to work on those slightly chilly days and even makes a great wind stopping layer over the top of my Scottevest Cotton Hoodie. The fit is a little snug as an outer layer so if you plan on using it as an outer shell I would recommend a size larger than you would normally get. It does fight a lot closer than any other Scottevest item I have owned.

The pocket layout is wonderful. Plenty of room for all my gadgets and cables. I can even fit my 10.1 inch Motorola Xoom tablet into the large pocket on the left front!

I highly recommend this jacket to anyone needing a light wind/water resistant outer shell or just a light jacket.
As the name suggests it also packs up into a pocket on the back of the jacket. This makes it great to carry to work on a day that it is supposed to rain in the afternoon but not during my morning commute. It even has a little clip when packed so I can clip it to my bag and not even have to carry it.

Now if I could just fine something to replace my aging Tactical 2.0. :D

Hylands Calms Forte Sleep Tablets

Hylands Calms Forte Sleep Tablets

I know it's not marketed for animals, but when I was in the Natural Food Store and asked about something to help my 10 year old dog she suggested this. He has never liked thunderstorms or fireworks (living in Florida they are daily occurrences in the summer) and it's 4th of July. Now that he is getting older he scares me - I keep worrying he will have a heart attack. He starts shaking, pants really heavy, and tries to climb under things even if there is no "under" (like my son's captains bed)- so I gave this a shot. He's about 50lbs, so I gave him 2 at first (ground them up, mixed with PB)- seemed to take the edge off. Today, with fireworks AND thunderstorm I gave him three. I can't believe it, he is chilling out. I can actually leave the room without him being on my heels. So happy! I will probably try this myself - I'll let you know how that works out.

Lonely Planet Turkey Travel ebook

Lonely Planet Turkey Travel ebook

This a point and click adventure game that I played in casual mode on a second generation Kindle Fire. The only issues I had were the same ones mentioned by one or two other reviewers: Getting and using inventory items was sometimes glitchy. Sometimes in order to pick something up you had to tap it just right in just the right spot to get it. To use inventory items, you had to drag them to exactly the right spot and drop them there. Watching for the "sparkle" (which may only happen in the casual mode, I don't know for sure) helped, but even then it would sometimes take quite a few attempts to get inventory to work. So if you are pretty sure you are on the right track, make sure you don't give up after only one or two tries. There a few that were especially stubborn.

There is a journal that will give you clues, and which sparkles when something new is added. The only annoying thing about this is that this journal can only be accessed in portrait position, while you will be playing the game in landscape mode. This means you will be constantly craning your neck or twisting your device back and forth.

Once you get to a certain point in the game, quite a ways in, you will be asked to pay (gasp!) 99 cents to continue. This will also get you a hint guide and other bonus content. The hint guide could be set up better. It's in chapters, but it's very confusing as to what chapter you want. I ended up a couple times seeing hint pages of game parts I hadn't reached yet, and had to click away fast to avoid being spoiled. But if you really get stuck it helps.

The story is good, and easier to follow than the one in the other MumboJumbo game I played, Salem Witch Trials. That game was good too, though. There are hidden object scenes in this game, but not too many, which for me is a good thing. The inventory items are also named so you don't have to guess as to what they are. The game is pretty long, at least I thought so, and well worth the 99 cents.

Case has become a part of our tablet... Dont even think of it as another product...

SupCase Leather 10 1 Inch Samsung S5113 62A BK

SupCase Leather 10 1 Inch Samsung S5113 62A BK

After reading reviews on most of the other cases to fit my Galaxy Tab 2, I became rather disillusioned and resigned myself to keep using the case that came with the tablet. After all, it's genuine leather and does afford some protection even though it's not very convenient to use.

But then I came across this case and after reading the reviews here thought I'd give it a try. I was worried there was no cutout for the microphone, like other cases, or that it would grow loose with age and slip off, or that the material would flake or wear in some bad way. After all, reviews of other cases cite these shortcomings for those cases.

No worries! This case is real leather with smooth suede where it meets the glass or plastic. It fits perfectly, the stand works as shown, and the magnetic closure holds well. I got a black, used, like-new one, and after a little leather conditioner it looks brand new.

Every port, speaker, camera lens, etc., has an opening and all function without removing the tablet from the case - except the charging port. More about that later.

It's been almost a month since I got it, so I just checked to see how the case is held on. At first couldn't figure it out, it's quite secure all the way around. I had to look very closely to see that it was held on cleverly with straps that close with Velcro in a hidden area. There's no way for the tablet to slide out of the case.

One downside is that you need to open the case to charge the tablet, i.e., the charge port is where the case hinges and thus has no opening. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to cut out an opening, but I'm happy leaving the case open while charging.

Also, the main face opening is just a tiny bit larger than the screen, so it's tricky to touch the very edge of the screen if your software demands it. I have my browser set with the lab function that removes the tabs and icons for maximum window size, and requires that you touch the very edge of the screen to activate a menu. I had trouble at first, but soon learned how to turn my thumb and get to the edge, so now it's easy.

In summary, this case fits like a glove, protects the tablet well, is made of high-quality leather, looks good, and doesn't interfere with functions. It's light and solidly built. In my opinion, it would be a great bargain at twice the price!

Awesome jacket...it convinced me to buy another product in their line.

Scottevest SeV Transformer Jacket

Scottevest SeV Transformer Jacket

I have 3 of these jackets for different occasions.

All three will keep all my gadgets in their rightful place and always know that I have everything.

I love being able to grab my jacket and be ready for anything. When the day brightens up a bit, just take off the sleeves, and breakout your sunglasses from their dedicated pocket.

Clearly I recommend the jacket since I own 3 variations but the Transformer is perfect when I travel. I just got back from a flight from Boston to Chicago... Security was a breeze since I only had my jacket and one carry-on. Instead of clearing out my pockets and stashing items into my bag, I just slipped off the jacket, placed it in a bin and walked right through. On the plane I had the sleeves off since I tend to run a little warm. Once off the plane, put the sleeves back on and was ready for walking in the beautiful fall weather. Need space for a water bottle, plane ticket, ID, sun glasses, extra hat, gloves, scarf, phone, headphones, your Transformer sleeves, whatever... you've got the room to spare.

I have:
The Revolution for rainy weather or as my outer layer in winter
The Fleece 5.0 for fall or just lazing around the house in winter.
The Transformer jacket for Spring/Summer with it's lightweight feel and quick-to-remove sleeves

Data Charger Cable TF101 TF201

Data Charger Cable TF101 TF201

I bought my original kindle fire right after the first one was announced. So about a year and a half ago, i think.

I love it and still use it frequently. It is perfect for travelling. I download video content before heading to the airport and I can watch it with my headphones to tune out the noise on the plane. I turn off wifi on the plane, to extend the battery life.

I have been tempted to check out the 4G/LTE version that came out, but am really very content with just wifi. the 8GB capacity works fine for me. I've never had issues with running out of space. I mainly use it for games, a couple books, and videos, which I delete from the device after watching. I can always re-download them from my video library if i want to get them back.

overall, i love it.
